"One of the most promising European bands" says Franticsound.dk, a simple statement but Jairus have never ceased to amaze people and finally we are offered, if I may say their amazing debut album for Skipworth Records.

"The Need To Change The Mapmaker" is Jairus's first album and after listening to the 10 tracks you will be lost for words as Jairus perform through different styles whilst always sounding emotional and heavy adding organ parts, synths and samples to add further depth to their already incredible music. From the heavy dynamic songs "And Caligula Blushed", "Spindley" and "Ara Pacis" to even a stunning electronica track "Our Modern Red, Selfless" and the mellow "Abandons The Exterior Look".

The album's artwork direction and concept came from within the band as well as Beth Spoor and Tim Laing, whilst the design and layout was handled by Zoli Totik @ Digits Destroy Design and took 3 months to perfect, the beautiful matt finish digipack is the result you see.

Recorded between August and October 2003 by Ben Phillips
Produced by Ben Phillips and Jairus
Mastered by Joe Gibb
Design by Zoli Totik for Digits Destroy Design www.digitsdestroy.com
