17 STITCHES have been a force not to be messed with since their beginning in 1997. 17 STITCHES hail from west London and play crunchy melodic hardcore punk. Since the formation of the band they have non-stop gigged wherever possible playing with AFI, CRO-MAGS, ENSIGN, IN MY EYES, ABJURE, ENGAGE, DAMAGE CONTROL FESTIVAL, IMBALANCE, KNEEJERK, CANVAS, OXYMORON, GUNDOG, OPPRESSED LOGIC, KNUCKLEDUST, STAMPIN' GROUND and IGNORAMUS to only name a few.

In 1998, I saw 17 STITCHES (who were called THE VEX at the time) playing at The Red Eye in London to about 20 sweated out kids going crazy and singing along to all the tunes. Just before 'Closer Than You Think' debut MCD for Skipworth hit the streets, 17 Stitches and Ignoramus hit the road for a UK Tour, along with me. We had such a great laugh and some funny memorable moments together.

'No mess, no fuss' is the best description for their debut release 'Closer Than You Think' which is a mix of crunchy hardcore punk with sang vocals mixing influences of Gorilla Buscuits, early Sick Of It All, The Business and Speak 714. This is an awesome record.
